Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Installation Engineer to join their team on a staff basis at their London office.
Role Purpose:
- Contribute to the installation of subsea structures, mooring systems, riser systems, flexible flowlines, and umbilicals.
- Prepare operational scopes and support offshore crew to ensure efficient project execution.
- Facilitate effective communication between clients, suppliers, offshore teams, and the design team.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver installation work packages for tenders, FEEDs, or projects.
- Coordinate a small team of engineers as necessary and serve as the technical point of contact for installation subject matter.
- Interface with all stakeholders, including external clients, suppliers, and internal teams (installation, manufacturing, purchasing).
- Prepare and review documents and studies related to tenders, FEEDs, and projects.
- Manage engineering activities linked to the preparation and installation of products.
- Plan, develop, and review specific procedures/task plans and associated calculation notes (e.g., design lifting slings).
- Support vessel mobilization and installation phases to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with project standards regarding quality, cost, and time.
- Act as the Technical Owner for specific subjects/products and oversee subcontractors’ work.
- Validate concepts and manage changes while adhering to HSEQ criteria.
- Contribute to the development of the discipline and mentor junior engineers.
- Provide innovative solutions to consolidate discipline expertise and reduce costs.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of experience in the offshore/subsea installation field.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: subsea structures installation, hook-ups or pull-ins, riser systems, flexible flowlines, and umbilicals/flying leads.
- Desirable experience in mooring installation, shore-pull, and relevant operations.
- Proven track record in deep and ultra-deep water construction with familiarity in tenders and projects.
- Experience in developing operational documentation, including procedures, task plans, and rigging design.
- Strong offshore operational experience with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Excellent prioritization, planning, coordination, and communication skills.
- Experience in coordinating or leading teams is preferred.
- Fluency in English is essential.
